Melanin Global Chapters, ambassadors, and regional programmes
Mining is local before it is global. Chapters run their own meetups, training and regional programmes, and a chapter lead is the person who starts one where they live.
Access Status
Bitcoin is the only public mining project. Explorer publishing is opt-in: a miner chooses to appear, and a published profile shows its wallet address. Rig names are never published, and nothing lists miners.
- Bitcoin onboarding
- Verify an email to open the Bitcoin dashboard. Connection details are private and are issued there once your access is approved.
- Alpha
- The public explorer shows opt-in Bitcoin profiles, one address at a time.
- Workforce only
- Workforce-only projects require a verified @melanin.engineering account in the dashboard.

What a chapter does
- Local community
- Miners in one place who meet, train together and help each other get set up.
- Ambassadors
- Leadership for active members. An ambassador speaks for the chapter and keeps it running.
- Events
- In-person and virtual gatherings, at least one a quarter.
Regional focus
The explorer publishes only what is actually running, so a region appears there the day it does and not before. Four are mapped for study: Africa for off-grid solar with mining, the Americas for community microgrids, Asia-Pacific for renewable energy access, and Europe for sustainability work.
What Is Published
| Data Source | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Opt-in Bitcoin profiles | Mining performance and the miner’s own wallet address, published by choice |
| Private dashboard data | Worker names, earnings, and connection details are never public |
| Maps and regional statistics | Not published |

Proof of Work
Why energy, mining and value belong in one sentence
Non-custodial by construction: your share is written into the block's own coinbase, 97/3 to miner and platform. Bitcoin is the public path and the pool is accepting work. Onboarding needs a verified email, private endpoints stay off public pages, and public code is reviewed before release.
