Start Mining on Hardware You Own A computer, a Pi, or a phone
You do not need a warehouse or a specialist machine to begin. Melanin runs a Bitcoin pool that accepts small miners, and your share is written into the block itself — it never passes through us.
Access Status
First-time miners on a computer, a Pi, or a phone can request access now. Public pages describe what is live today.
- Configured onboarding
- Verify an email to open your dashboard. Connection details are private and are issued there once your access is approved.
- Alpha
- The Bitcoin pool is running and accepting work. Access is granted by review.
What you need
Three things, and you probably have two of them already.
- A device
- A phone, a Raspberry Pi, a laptop, or a purpose-built miner. Smaller devices contribute less work, and they still contribute.
- A Bitcoin address
- One you control, in a wallet you already use. Your share is paid to it directly — Melanin never holds it.
- An email address
- Any address. You verify it once, which opens a dashboard where your connection details are issued after review.
What actually happens
Mining is your device doing arithmetic that proves work was done.
- Energy becomes proof
- Your device spends electricity on a calculation nobody can shortcut. That expenditure is what makes a Bitcoin block trustworthy, and it is the whole reason the network pays for it.
- A pool shares the odds
- Alone, a small device might wait years to find a block. In a pool, many miners search together and the reward is split by the work each contributed — smaller, far more often.
- Your share is 97%
- Melanin keeps 3%. The split is written into the block’s own coinbase transaction, so your share arrives at your address without passing through Melanin at any point.
- Nothing is custodial
- There is no balance to withdraw and no account holding your Bitcoin, because there was never a moment when Melanin held it. That is a property of how payment works here, not a policy.
What a small device earns
Your share is proportional to the work your device contributes, and it is written into the block itself. A phone or a Raspberry Pi contributes a small amount of work, so it earns a small share — worth knowing before you begin.
People run them to learn how mining works, to keep a spare device useful, or to take part in the network at all — not to replace an income. Larger machines earn proportionally more, and the same 97/3 split applies to every one of them.
How access works
Connection details are private and are issued in your dashboard once access is approved.
Verify an email
A six-digit code opens your dashboard. No account is created until you redeem it.
Add your address
Save the Bitcoin address you want paid, then register the device you plan to run.
Receive your details
Once your access is approved, the connection details for your device appear in the dashboard.

Non-custodial by construction is the direct-payment design. The published fee policy is 97/3 to miner and platform. Bitcoin is the public path. Confirm actual payment in your wallet; a dashboard record alone is not proof. Onboarding needs a verified email, private endpoints stay off public pages, and public code is reviewed before release.
